Selected cardiovascular risk factors, serum cholesterol and triglyceride levels, presence of overweight, blood pressure and lifestyle patterns were assessed in 66 male medical students from Ethiopia aged between 18 and 26 years. A questionnaire was administered to 793 randomly chosen Standard ten Northern Sotho-speaking pupils whose ages ranged from 17 to 24 years. Pearson product-moment correlation of .7 suggested the association of early science experience with scores on attitudes towards science.

In assessing the relationship between rated self-concept and scholastic achievement of 227 Grade 12 students (ages ranging from 15 to 35 years) in the Northern Province of South Africa, questionnaire scores had a Cronbach a of .81. Ratings correlated .22 with matriculation examination grades.

Schistosomiasis due to Schistosoma haematobium was the most common helminth infection in school-age children from a poor area in Bamako, Mali. Almost half (47%) of the boys and 40% of the girls were infected, 18% of the children being heavily infected.
