A questionnaire survey was carried out among 1041 students in secondary schools and colleges in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania to evaluate the relationship between HIV-risky sexual behaviour and anti-condom bias, as well as with AIDS-related information, knowledge, perceptions and attitudes. The concentration of lead in the scalp hair of 257 school children within the age range of 6–12, living in the Manzini region in Swaziland, was measured using a graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometer. Mean lead concentration ranged between 7.75–9.19 μ.g/g, and 4.95–5.95 μg/g for the urban and rural schools, respectively. The purpose of this study was to investigate how African American male and female college students differ in their attitudes concerning rape. Two‐hundred and ten college students completed a 12‐item questionnaire designed to measure their views toward this issue. This qualitative study was designed to gather information using focus groups, about Asian international students' experiences with and attitudes toward African Americans, to identify the sources of these attitudes, and to discover methods that would address negative attitudes that Asian students might have towards African American students. The article also offers perspectives for rethinking research strategies with Asian international students.

The career decisiveness of postsecondary South African students in vocational education ( N = 1062) were assessed. Analysis indicated that White students were more decisive about careers than Asian and Black students in the first year. The implications of this finding for postsecondary education in South Africa are discussed.
