Infection is one of the major public health problems facing developing countries, with school age children at greatest risk. A survey of S. haematobium infection was conducted among school children in Ohaukwu and Onicha in Ebonyi State, Nigeria using standard techniques. Of the combined total of 876 pupils examined, 235(26.8%, 95% CI., 23.9-29.7%) were infected with S. haematobium.
