This paper explores passive and active forms of social learning by Kenyan farmers. We document high rates of error and bias in respondents’ proxy reporting of their network members’ behavior. In this chapter, we trace the history and development of the Peace Education Program in the Centre for Adult Education (CAE) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), South Africa, and examine how action research has shaped our course.
