Uranium and thorium contents have been determined for fifteen silicate lavas, two carbonate lavas and the plutonic blocks from Oldoinyo Lengai, Tanzania. The uranium concentration was found to be fairly constant in lavas of widely variable composition whereas thorium is more abundant in the silicic phonolites.
