Korle Bu Eye Unit based in Accra, Ghana is linked with Moorfields Eye Hospital in a VISION 2020 partnership. Its primary aim is to support and strengthen ophthalmic services within the eye unit at Korle Bu. The objective of this article was to discuss the roles of higher education institutions towards a knowledge-based Nigerian economy in the fast changing globalised economy.
