This article reports on findings emanating from a qualitative content analysis of 13 in-depth newspaper articles written by or based on interviews with experts, as well as three editorials commenting on hazing. This paper draws on the theories of cognitive dissonance and...

The Teso Safe Motherhood Project (TSMP) in Soroti, Uganda provides birth center care for women in conflict areas of Northern Uganda. After conducting a needs assessment at TSMP, a continuing education project was developed to facilitate change in clinical practice to enhance prevention and recognition of...

It is therefore of interest to investigate what is being said about parental involvement (PI) in the Tanzanian school. The aim with this study is to identify and analyse common assumptions about PI in the context of the Tanzanian primary school. We had the opportunity to travel to Tanzania for eight...

A negative effect size as large as ten per cent of a standard deviation is observed. There...

Achieving the MDGs paradigm will require both knowledge and skills. e-learning is gaining popularity and bringing knowledge...

However some doubts have been made about the accuracy of their comments. I present evidence for a low-lying volcanic island that may have existed at Hankow Reef and its links to the Yomba stories.

While climate change is widely regarded as a threat to food security in southern Africa, few studies attempt to link the science of climate change impacts on agriculture with the specificities of smallholder livelihoods. In this paper, we build a series of linear programming (LP) farm-household models in Zambia in order to assess the impact of climate change on rural households and likely changes in land use and crop management. The LP models represent three household types (smallholders,...
