The present investigation examined how African American students rated the values of the basic instructional physical education activity program at two historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) based on a 24-item questionnaire. This paper describes the Egyptian experience in using Expert Systems (ES) as a training tool in the agriculture sector. The work described here is part of an ongoing research to study the use of ES in human resources development. In particular, we present the use of such a tool as an instructional device for increasing the efficiency of extension workers through improving their general decision-making skills in their jobs. End-user computing class groups consist of a wide spectrum of students which have deemed traditional lecturing and evaluation methods ineffective. We have developed computer-based tutorials and tests that motivate the students to explore and employ various features of the software products by using built-in coaches or help features. They become self-competitive and self-confident and re-evaluate themselves until they have reached the required standard to do the official evaluation.

This study is the first phase of a project to develop a culturally-appropriate, family-mediated social support intervention program. This phase consisted of in-home interviews with 26 African-American (AF) and 26 Filipino-American (FA) parents who were not receiving counseling or social services for parent-child conflict, and self-reported adequate personal and family functioning.
