Coprologic surveys realized in schoolchildren in a few western areas of the Republic of Niger provided the following results. Concerning protozoa, the prevalence of amebiasis-infestation is strong in all the studies areas, giardiasis is more frequent in dry areas. As for the helminths, Hymenolepsis nana is met everywhere, the prevalence of ancylostomiasis decreases gradually from the south to the north and the endemic area of Schistosoma mansoni is limited to the extreme south of the country. The other helminthiasis are rare.

ABSTRACT The feasibility of predicting total summer crop water use by grassland, based on early or pre-season soil moisture reserves, was investigated. Tests were based on the correlation over time between simulated soil moisture and related variables at six South African climate stations. Since the arrival of seamen in the Bight of Benin, continuous survey and sounding of the bars rivers and ports of Nigeria have been carried out by master mariners, shipping agents, the Royal Navy, oil companies, dredging companies and the Nigerian Ports Authority. The economic rationale for training to become a nurse is examined in this paper through the analysis of the private rate of return to nursing education. Essentially the hypothesis, which guided the course of investigation and the computation of internal rate of return, explored the variation among schools in terms of costs through the differences between mean expenditures.
